•  Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Mahanadi High School. She said that she was amazed by the love she had received from the beautiful students dressed in their traditional attire. Later, she went to the famous Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Museum in Kurseong, the place where Netaji was placed under house arrest by the British rulers for seven months.

•  Hon'ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her deep condolences on the death of Alok Mitra, the prominent photo journalist. He started his career in the Anandabazar group and retired as chief photographer of The Telegraph. His camera witnessed many historical moments. A severe loss had been created in the image journalism world, on his departure, said the Hon’ble Chief Minister.

•  After the Uttarkanya Administrative Meeting today, she chaired the administrative review meeting at Kurseong for the districts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong. Administrative review meetings are essential assessments to understand how much a state had progressed and how much it could achieve on the coming days , stated the Hon’ble Chief Minister. Later in the evening she visited the site where the construction of the prestigious Presidency University campus was being built at Kurseong.

•  Kolkata has bagged the prestigious C 40 award for green mobility-low carbon commute transition at the Global Mayors’ summit held in Copenhagen for introduction of electric buses in Kolkata by West Bengal Transport Corporation, stated the Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Out of total 185 applications under different categories, Kolkata has won best project award for GREEN MOBILITY category.This is the second time Government of West Bengal initiative has bagged the prestigious award. Previously KMDA won C-40 award in 2016 for Solid Waste Management Project. She congratulated all, for this great achievement.

•  The State Tourism and Information Culture Department organized the Durga Puja Carnival this year on the Red Road, like every year. This is the fourth year of this spectacular procession on the Red Road. It was decorated with terracotta that has been named as the 'Rangamatir Bangla'. Led by the Kolkata Police’s Tornado unit – a motorcycle-borne squad of police personnel performed stunts on the bikes. This was followed by traditional dhunuchi dance and then Chhau dance, accompanied by dhaak rolls. After these, the main attraction of the carnival took place – the procession of idols decked in all their finery on board trailers. Thousands of indigenous and foreign people witnessed the event.
